Nisar says he will never bow in front of anyone

RAWALPINDI: Former interior minister and disgruntled Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that everyone is playing their own game and no one is thinking about the country.

Addressing a public meeting here in Chontra, he said that he stood with the country and would ensure the protection of the country’s integrity, adding that throughout his life, he has never bowed in front of anyone and would never do it in future.

Nisar, who is an independent candidate for NA -59 and NA-63, said that he is doing politics for honour. He added that PML-N ticket was no problem for him and it was on a distance of an application but he did not compromise.

He further said that Imran Khan is his friend who had openly offered him to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), but he did not compromise on principles.

Chaudhry Nisar said that he had been in PML-N for the last 34 years and supported Nawaz Sharif in every difficult time. He added that it was he [Nisar] who started military operation in Karachi and now there is peace in Karachi.

He said that when blasphemous sketches were viral on social media, it was the duty and responsibility of the ministry of information technology to stop it but it failed badly. He said that as an interior minister, he took actions and gathered all the ambassadors of Islamic counties, contacted the administration of Facebook and Google, and took surety from them that no blasphemous sketches would be published.

“Not a single such incident has happened after that,” Nisar said.

He also said that there was a time when 100 SIMs were issued to a single person, which were used for terrorism in the country. He ordered registration of the SIMs due to which terrorism reduced to a great extent.

He went on to say that the people of NA-59 are with them and will defeat his opponents by casting vote in his favour on July 25, adding that his political opponent in the constituency is a person with fake degrees and does not even have matriculation.
