MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ex-MPA and local leader Shahid Mehmood on Saturday resigned from the party, saying that it has deviated from its manifesto by inducting “corrupt electables” in the party.

In a letter addressed to PTI Chairman Imran Khan, the disillusioned ex-MPA stated that he joined the PTI seven years ago with an aim to bring change in the country and play a vital role against corruption. However, many turncoats have now joined the PTI and they were allotted party tickets as well, he went on to add.

Shahid Mehmood was not allowed a PTI ticket from PP-214 Multan-IV after the party decided to field ex-MPA Zaheeruddin Alazai in the upcoming polls.
