GUJAR KHAN: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) ticket holder for NA-58 and former member of National Assembly (MNA) Raja Javed Ikhlas faces serious opposition from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former town nazim Chaudhry Azeem and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) contender and former prime minister (PM) Raja Pervez Ashraf.
Ikhlas had earlier defeated the former PM in the 2013 elections but his difficulties have multiplied ahead of the upcoming general elections.
The locals have complained that Ikhlas rarely visited the constituency.
Furthermore, Ikhlas’s cousin, who his also the local union council (UC) chairman joined forces with the PPP.
Moreover, Ashraf also gained the support of disgruntled local PML-N leaders and workers.
