Holders Germany sensationally crashed out of the World Cup on Wednesday in one of the biggest shocks in the tournament´s history — failing to make it past the opening round for the first time since 1938, and Twitter is blaming ‘Virat Curse’ for it.

Football fans of the subcontinent are sharing the pictures of Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli in which he is wearing German football jersey stating it one of the reasons of German exit.

Kohli shared the picture before the start of World Cup 2018 showing his support for the defending champions.

According to the social media users, the ‘curse’ of Indian captain is extremely strong and the ‘evidence’ for that is his previous record.

Virat is the captain of Royal Challengers in Indian Premier League (IPL) and is part of the team for last 11 years but has never won single IPL trophy, he married with Anushka Sharma in Italy, and the team didn’t qualify for the world cup 2018, and then he supported Germany and the team crashed out of the tournament in first round, the Twitter said.

This is the first time that Germany did not qualify for the second round in world cup.

Australian cricket commentator and journalist tweeted: “Poor Virat”.

Sharing another picture of Indian captain, Dennis wrote: “I guess Richmond won’t win the AFL this year then”.

Another user wrote: “And the bad luck haunts for Virat Kohli”.

One user wrote it about in detail, “Born in Dehli, who never won IPL. Captains Bangalore, who never won IPL either. Got married in Italy recently, they couldn’t qualify for the . Supported Germany from the Start, got eliminated in group stage.”

One Indian fan asked a very important question: “Virat Kohli. Will India win the World Cup?”

Another cricket fan mentioned the Kohli-Amir rivalry and wrote: “Germany is Virat Kohli and South Korea is Mohammed Amir”.
