LAHORE: Appellate Tribunal (AT) has rejected the appeal against the approval of nomination papers of former federal minister for national health services regulation Saira Afzal Tarar and has allowed her to contest elections.
AT has declared the appeal plea non-maintainable.
As per media reports, Justice Shahbaz Rizvi of AT took up the petition against the approval of nomination papers of Saira Afzal Tarar for hearing on Wednesday.
The petitioner Shaukat Bhatti took the stance in AT that Saira Tarar had concealed facts in her nomination papers and had not shown her assets.
He further said that she is not qualified to contest the election under the Article 62, 63 so she should be disqualified from contesting elections.
