Pakistan urges Bhutan to play role for SAARC’s revitalisation

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk while reiterating Pakistan’s commitment towards South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation has urged Bhutan to play its role for the revitalization of SAARC.

Talking to a 10-member delegation from Bhutan, led by its non-resident Ambassador to Pakistan, Sonam Tobden Rabgye in Islamabad he underscored the importance that Pakistan accords to Bhutan and said that relations between the two countries would be further strengthened.

The Prime Minister highlighted the need for diversification and deepening of ties with Bhutan in the field of education, tourism, cultural exchanges and environmental preservation.

Ambassador Sonam Tobden reaffirmed his country’s commitment towards making SAARC a vibrant regional organization.

He said Pakistan occupies a special place specially Swat in the spiritual and cultural annals of Bhutan.
