Illegal construction case: SC seeks objections within one week

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday sought detailed report on illegal construction in Bani Gala area of Islamabad within a week.

A three-member bench headed by Supreme Court Chief Justice Mina Saqib Nisar heard the case on Wednesday.

The federal ombudsman submitted a report in the court. Earlier, the chief justice had allegedly said that the report will be assessed under the survey of 1956. The court also remarked that encroachers and land grabbers will be held accountable and their properties will be demolished. The court directed the relevant authorities to submit their objections within a week.

TANKERS TO SUPPLY WATER:

Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday allowed water tankers to supply water to the residents of Islamabad for two weeks.

A three-member bench, headed by Supreme Court Chief Justice Mina Saqib Nisar, heard the case. During hearing of the case, the top court judge remarked that the court wants to solve short term issues at first stage and long term issues will be resolved later.

The public representatives prayed the apex court judge to ask from Islamabad Mayar where he was disappeared while they were suffering from water shortage. The hearing has been adjourned till indefinite time.
