ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) held the federal government responsible for the delay and failure to regularise several ministries employees who continued to work on contractual bases.

The federal government was barred from announcing a new regularisation policy as earlier policies of 2008, 2011 and 2016 had failed in a verdict handed down by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Aamer Farooq.

Moreover, the court also banned temporary appointments so that a similar issue would not arise in the future.

Furthermore, the court suggested that an amendment in the law concerned should be made to resolve the issue.

Earlier on Tuesday, all ministries were directed by the IHC to issue posting orders within three months for officers awaiting postings.
