PTI withdraws two more tickets after Bosan

ISLAMABAD: Following the withdrawal of the party ticket given to Sikandar Bosan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has withdrawn party tickets for the upcoming polls from two candidates from Gujrat.

The list pertaining to PTI’s ticket holders does not show the names of Muhammad Zubair and Chaudhary Ilyas.

Zubair was given a ticket to contest from PP-28 while Ilyas was due to contest NA-71 from PTI’s platform.

Earlier, PTI had withdrawn the ticket awarded to Sikandar Bosan after party workers had protested against him.

PTI has faced a big setback in Baluchistan as its important leader in the province Sardar Khan Rind has been disqualified from contesting elections.

Khan Rind was the provincial president of PTI, who had joined the party in 2015. He had submitted his nomination papers from the constituency NA-260  and PB-17 Naseerabad, Jhal Magsi and Khachi for the upcoming general elections.

Rind’s nomination papers were rejected by the Returning Officer as several cases were registered against him. He had challenged the decision of RO in Baluchistan High Court. On Tuesday during hearing, Sardar Rind could not present in person but his lawyer Rana Aamir appeared before the court on his behalf.

BHC upheld the verdict of Returning Officer and bared Sardar Rind to contest elections.
