Hashmi says he has no interest in contesting polls

MULTAN: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Javed Hashmi has said that he wants to do politics of the country instead of a constituency and he has no interest in contesting elections.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, he said that he had submitted his nomination papers on the direction of the party leadership.

Hashmi also said that Javed Ali Shah, the party’s candidate from NA-158, informed him that he would have no constituency if Hashmi would contest from the same constituency.

Hashmi said that PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif had promised him a ticket, but he himself was not interested in contesting elections. He said that he would continue supporting PML-N.

He further said that the people should vote for candidates on the basis of their performance.
