Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar has assets worth Rs 62.5 million, according to his nomination papers submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
According to details, Nisar owns Rs19.5 million in bank accounts and has furniture worth Rs0.23 million.
The nomination papers say the ex-minister does not own any vehicle and has not invested in any business outside Pakistan. Nisar claimed he and his family members were never defaulters.
The main sources of income for Nisar, who has no business of his own, include agricultural income, rent, and his property.
In the documents, he has listed his wife and daughter as his dependents. During the last fiscal year, he made five foreign visits, all of which were related to official work.
The documents further reveal that Nisar does not have citizenship of any other country and has never applied for it.
The estranged PML-N leader will contest the 2018 general election for the constituencies NA-59 (Rawalpindi-II), NA-63 (Rawalpindi-VII), PP-10 (Rawalpindi-V) and PP-12 (Rawalpindi-VII) as an independent candidate.
The PML-N had nominated candidates against Nisar for these constituencies. From NA-59 and PP-10, the PML-N issued party tickets to Raja Qamarul Islam while Mumtaz Khan has been fielded in NA-63. The party has given its go-ahead to Faisal Qayyum Malik for the PP-12 constituency.
