PESHAWAR: The Appellate Tribunal of Peshawar High Court (PHC) Bannu bench summoned Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in a petition filed by an opposition candidate over the acceptance of his nomination papers from NA- 35 despite the filing of an objection over the alleged relation of Imran with American citizen Sita White.
Appellate Tribunal Judge Justice Abdul Shakoor Khan issued the notice to Imran Khan summoning him on Tuesday at 9:00 am.
The opposition candidate from Justice Democratic Party, Advocate Inamullah Khan had filed an objection over the acceptance of Imran’s nomination papers by Returning Officer for NA-35 Bannu.
The petitioner argued that Imran has a daughter, Tyrian Khan from Sita While which he has not mentioned in his nomination papers. Therefore, petitioner added, Imran does not fulfill the criteria under Article 62 and 63 of the constitution and his papers should be rejected.
It merits a mention that the Bannu Returning Officer had accepted the nomination papers of Imran by rejecting the objection of Advocate Inamullah Khan of Justice Democratic Party. Therefore the petitioner moved PHC Bannu bench seeking relief.
