GUJRAT: A group of disgruntled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers in Gujrat led by Afzal Gondal have launched their election campaign in NA-69 after party’s decision to avoid fielding any candidate in the constituency due to a likely seat adjustment with the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q).Gondal was previously PTI’s candidate for the constituency in the 2013 general elections. However, with reports of seat adjustment between Chaudhry brothers and the PTI, the latter has decided against fielding any candidate in the constituency.
PTI did not announce its candidates for the constituency so far prompting Gondal and his group to take the action. Gondal’s group became infuriated ever since it was reported that Imran Khan-led party would support Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s candidature.
Moreover, Tanveer Gondal and Nadeem Gujjar who were aspirants of PTI’s ticket for NA-68 for the upcoming polls started their separate election campaign as well.
On the other hand, PML-Q leader Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain rejected the possibility of a seat adjustment agreement between his party and the PTI.
