Former lawmakers Roy Mansab Ali Khan and Nawab Liaquat on Sunday announced to support Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate and former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani’s son Ali Musa Gillani in NA-157 Multan for the upcoming elections.
They said this while addressing a joint press conference at Gillani’s residence in Multan.
Speaking on the occasion, Mansab claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was demanding money from candidates to award party tickets to them.
“I have joined this party because of what they stand for,” he added.
The former prime minister said, “This will be a historic election with an unprecedented result.”
“Our party wants the restoration of the constitution and democracy in Pakistan in line with the struggles of Benazir Bhutto,” he added. Gillani said that the party had now become stronger with the support of two former lawmakers.
He said that PPP would win with a great margin in South Punjab.
The former prime minister said that the PPP has worked tirelessly for the supremacy of the constitution and democracy.
