Five of a family killed in Sargodha

SARGODHA: Unidentified persons shot dead five members of a family in a village on the outskirts of Sargodha on Friday night.

According to media reports, unidentified persons broke into the residence of a sweet shop owner, Muhammad Tafel, and opened fire, killing him and his family members and injuring one.

The deceased included Tafel’s 40-year-old Majeeda Bibi as well as their three children, two sons and a daughter aged 20, 18, and 16.

The dead bodies and injured were shifted to the hospital while the investigation of the incident is underway, said  DSP Bhalwal Khalid Khan Niazi.

Punjab caretaker chief minister Hasan Askari took notice of the incident and summoned report from IG Punjab and said justice will be ensured.
