CJP asks Sindh IG to submit report on Rabia murder case

KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday directed Sindh Inspector General to submit a report over the investigation into the rape and murder of six-year-old Rabia in Karachi.

It was reported that at least one person was killed and several others injured after protesters clashed with the police near Kati Pahari on June 17, demanding justice for Rabia who was killed after being raped.

Her body was recovered from bushes near Northern Bypass and a post-mortem report later confirmed she was raped before strangled.

During the case hearing at Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry, the parents of the deceased minor appeared before the bench, claiming that no efforts have been made to arrest the suspects.

Moreover, the parents further stated that the suspects were threatening them.
