A woman, who had allegedly been set ablaze by her husband following a quarrel over Eid shopping in Multan, succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday, reported a private media outlet.
According to reports, the couple had got into an argument over buying Eid apparel for their children on June 14. In a fit of rage, the accused, Mujahid Iqbal had set his wife, Jamila, on fire leading to her sustaining severe burn wounds to 80 per cent of her body.
After remaining admitted in the Nishtar burn unit for five days, the victim succumbed to her injuries.
The body has been handed over to the bereaved family.
According to the police, a case of the incident has not yet been registered, however, an investigation is underway.
