TV anchorperson Mubashar Lucman has drawn ire of social media users after he allegedly raised doubts regarding the health of former first lady Kulsoom Nawaz, who is currently admitted in London’s Harley Street Clinic.
In his show ‘Khara Such’ on Monday night, Lucman had called Harley Street Clinic “a mere clinic”, insinuating that the Sharif family had pulled off a political stunt by getting the wife of deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif admitted to a clinic rather than a specialised facility, and that Kulsoom’s health might not be as serious as was being told to the Pakistani media.
“I’ve personally seen Harley Street Clinic, it’s a small facility specialising in cosmetic surgeries,” he claimed.
However, contrary to Lucman’s claims, the Harley Street Clinic is one of the top specialist private clinics in London that caters to cancer patients, and also has special units for cardiac and neurosciences hospital. Part of HCA Healthcare UK, the hospital has one of the top specialists in the country.
Services provided by the Harley Street Clinic has cancer care, cardiac ICU, congenital heart care and diagnostics, while OPD has endometriosis centre and screening facility.
Kulsoom Nawaz suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday and was admitted to the ICU in London’s Harley Street Clinic where she was placed on the ventilator.
Mixed opinions were seen on the micro-blogging site Twitter, where people started tweets with hashtags ‘No Politics On Mothers’, ‘Kulsoom Nawaz’, however, some tweets criticised Lucman for his opinion on the condition of the ailing Kulsoom Nawaz.
