Punjab CM Askari takes notice, demands report on bus hostess murder case

LAHORE: Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Hasan Askari on Sunday took notice of the murder of a female bus hostess in Faisalabad, a local media outlet reported on Sunday.

A report has been summoned from the Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) as well.

Mehwish, the 18-year-old bus hostess was approached on Thursday by a suspect named Umer Daraz who worked as a security guard for her during her employment with Kohistan travels.

Umer had previously proposed Mehwish to marry him but she had consistently refused.

Mehwish was coming back to her hostel after meeting with family at the time when Umer tried to hold her arm, prompting Mehwish to argue with him.

Incensed at the rejection, he took out a pistol and shot her. She was taken to hospital but failed to recover from her injuries.
