ISLAMABAD: Police booked several Pakistan Air Force (PAF) officers, including from the Air Intelligence, in a case pertaining to the murder of a group captain.

The case was registered after Tanzeela Khan, the deceased’s wife, approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

She had lodged a complaint with police earlier, but the case was registered after directives were issued by the IHC.

Group Captain Rizwan Attique died on July 10 and was allegedly abducted by Air Intelligence officers between May 3 and July 6, according to the First Information Report (FIR).

The FIR also claimed that the deceased officer was allegedly taken into unofficial custody again on June 23.

The deceased group captain’s wife alleged that her husband was being forced to give a statement against a former engineering deputy chief of air staff.

On July 10, Khan was taken to a PAF hospital where she was informed that her husband had died.

The case was registered under Section 32 and Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

When contacted by Pakistan Today, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Colonel Shafiq refused to comment on the issue.
