Rao Anwar claims he’ll walk free in Naqeebullah case

KARACHI: Former senior superintendent of police (SSP) Rao Anwar said that he would be proven innocent in the case pertaining to Naqeebullah Mehsud’s murder.

Former SSP Anwar along with 11 of his associates is accused of killing Mehsud, an aspiring model, a shopkeeper and three others in a staged encounter.

Speaking to journalists outside the court, Anwar claimed that he neither caught nor killed Mehsud and that he had the record to back up his claim.

He said, “I have been nominated in the wrong case.”

The hearing was adjourned till July 4.
