PML-N willing to work with military if voted into power: Mushahid

LAHORE: Chairman of the newly constituted media cell of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed has said that if PML-N is voted to power in upcoming general elections, it will have no objection to work with military leadership.

He said this while talking to media men here Thursday while ruling out any delay in elections. He also dispelled the fears that unelected forces would change the map of the polls.

Citing 1988 elections, he said that these forces along with Islami Jamhoori Ittihad (IJI) had tried to block Benazir Bhutto’s way so that she could not get a majority in the parliament to form the government.

Regarding election results, Mushahid said that it all depends on the voters as they are the ones to decide who to elect.  He added that voters are with PML-N and they will remain with it.

“You can see Sharif family public meetings and how warmly people welcome them,” the senator said.

Ruling out the possibility of arrest of Nawaz Sharif in NAB references filed against him, he said that these all are sheer presumptions.

Responding to a question he said the party is united despite all pressures and no power can prevent it from succeeding in the upcoming polls. “All the national and international surveys are indicating the success of PML-N.”

Terming Imran Khan, Asif Ali Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif as the three prospective candidates for the slot of premiership after July 2018 polls, Mushahid said that no one can deny that PML-N President Shehbaz is the strongest candidate for the slot of prime minister due to his performance.
