Man who ‘killed’ traffic warden remanded in police custody

RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday remanded in police custody the man who killed a traffic warden and an on-looker for seven days.

Raja Daud, the accused, and his accomplice were booked by police under Section 302 and Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Earlier, the traffic official was shot dead by a motorist on Tuesday evening just 15 minutes before Iftar for not allowing him to park the car in a no-parking spot.

The official and the on-looker were taken to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

The funeral prayers of the martyred traffic warden, Shahid Sarwar, were offered on Wednesday at Police Lines.
