PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority launched a crackdown operation against bakers across the province to ensure the provision of fresh and safe sweets to customers on Eid, reported a local English newspaper.
According to media reports, the bakers and shops owners were warned before the crackdown to follow the standards otherwise their outlets will be sealed and closed down, while the stock will be taken into custody and discarded.
The press release issued by the authority said that the operation was conducted across the province and that the staff will remain on duty during Eid days.
