PTI, PML-N female workers protest issuance of reserved seats’ party tickets

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) female workers protested against their respective party leadership over an issue pertaining to the protestors not being on the priority lists of the candidates for the reserved seats.

PML-N workers protested outside the party office situated in model town and said that the leadership had obliged those who had only paid “lip service”.

A female worker said, “I have a 32-year-old long association with PML-N and the leadership should not have ignored me and other diehard workers who have also gone to jail for the party.”

Another protestor said, “We did our bit by distributing food among people as part of the campaign for Kulsoom Nawaz.”

Former information minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that their grievances would be redressed.

On the other hand, PTI’s female workers held a meeting which lawyer Hamid Khan chaired.

The meeting concluded with the decision to approach PTI Chairman Imran Khan with a request pertaining to party tickets.

The female workers claimed that PTI’s party tickets for reserved seats were not given on the basis of merit.

They also said that they would protest at Bani Gala if their grievances were to redress.
