ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) on Wednesday demanded removal of NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) chairman.
According to the details, PTI Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry has penned a letter to the chief election commissioner, stating that it is the prime responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to make sure to appoint a fair and free chairman of NADRA.
Fawad Chaudhry welcomed the decision of changing chief secretaries and IGPs of the provinces but also demanded to change federal and provincial home secretaries.
On Tuesday, ECP directed establishment division to replace all four provincial chief secretaries and inspector general’s (IGs) with immediate effect.
ECP had written a letter to establishment division to fill the posts of chief secretaries and inspector generals.
ECP had also informed secretary defence, the interior secretary, and chief secretaries of four provinces regarding a security meeting, the purpose of which is to chalk out a security plan for the elections.
The Director General Military Operation (DGMO), and IGs have also been summoned by the ECP to finalise security arrangements for avoiding any untoward situation.
It will also be decided in the meeting to fix CCTV cameras on sensitive polling stations.
