According to PFA Director, General Noorul Amin Mengal, a team under the supervision of the director (vigilance) raided the factory which was being run in a posh area of the city.
He said the team seized more than 40,000 empty bottles, packing material and thousands of bottle caps. The material was supplied to the units making fake beverages in different cities of Punjab, he added.
The PFA also dismantled all the machinery of the factory and shifted it to a warehouse, which is so far the largest such factory unearthed in Punjab according to the food authority.
He said a case has been registered against the owners of the factory and the warehouse.
Mengal said the PFA also seized all the record of the factory and was trying to find out its actual clients because the receipts found there carried fake names and addresses.
The authority unearthed more than 100 such units in the province during the current year, he mentioned.
