KARACHI: Sindh government has approved health professional allowance, 20 per cent of respective basic pay (running), for paramedical staff and supporting staff of healthcare facilities.
A notification issued by Finance Department Government of Sindh said: “In continuation of this department’s office order of even number April 03, 2018 and with the approval of the competent authority (i.e., Chief Minister Sindh), the government of Sindh has been pleased to allow health professional allowance 20 per cent of the respective basic pay ( running) to the paramedical staff and supporting staff who have been upgraded/ promoted to BPS-16 and BPS-17 working in medical/ health institutions of health department w.e.f. July 01, 2018.”
Central leader of Paramedical Staff Joint Action Committee, Sindh, Asmil Jiskani, while talking to PPI, thanked the former Sindh cabinet and health secretary for the approval of health professional allowance for paramedics and support staff.
He said Sindh government had approved 20 per cent health professional allowance for paramedical staff and support staff from grade-1 to grade- 17 respective basic pay (running) through two different notifications.
The Paramedical Staff Joint Action Committee had staged a three-day sit-in outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC) for approval of health professional allowance in March 2018. They had demanded for health professional allowance on the pattern of Punjab, Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
