The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will gather on Thursday for the sighting of Shawwal moon. The final announcement in this connection will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Muneebur Rehman.
Zonal Ruet committees from other provinces would also meet in their respective areas to share their input with the central committee. Help would also be sought from astronomy experts while sighting the Shawwal moon.
An official press release stated that accounts of moon-sighting from the provinces should be shared with the zonal committees at the earliest.
Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council Secretary General Khalid Ejaz had said on Monday that the Shawal moon might not be visible on Thursday evening (June 14), and Eidul Fitr would most probably be observed on Saturday (June 16).
It is important to mention here that the age of the new moon at the time of sunset on Thursday evening would be no more than 19 hours.
