LAHORE: Pakistan Railways has announced a facility of free travel for the passengers aged 65 and above during the first two days of Eidul Fitr.
According to Railways spokesman, the offer was announced as per the directions of Railways caretaker minister Roshan Khursheed. The offer will be applied to all seats classes and trains in the country.
According to the notification, ticketing will be free of cost on duplicate CNIC while advanced reservation, e-ticketing and BPT will also be issued at the reservation and booking offices at train stations. However, during the travel, commuters will be required to carry their original CNIC.
Upon showing their CNIC at the railway station, tickets will be issued immediately to the passengers.
Pakistan Railway had previously announced a 30 per cent discount on commuting fares during the first two days of Eid.
