Two fallow deer born at Lahore Zoo

LAHORE: Lahore Zoo on Sunday welcomed two female fawns, bringing the grand total to 11.

Born just below a week before Eid, the newborn fawns have added to the number of fallow deer at the zoo. The Lahore Zoo administration stated that now there are currently two males and nine females.

Despite the fact that fallow deer are not found in the wild in Pakistan, several zoos are breeding the creatures in captivity. Fallow deers are a small deer of Europe and Asia that is grey in winter and pale brown with white spots in summer.

The fallow deer closely resembles a spotted deer. Its coat also bears patches of white, however, its horns are significantly larger than other deer. Fallow deer are usually found in Europe. They live for around 14 to 16 years.
