MURREE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan recently announced that he would contest the upcoming general elections from NA-53 following which former prime minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was reportedly gearing up to challenge Khan as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate.
The former pm is also contesting the upcoming polls from NA-57.
In the past, NA-57 has returned Abbasi to the National Assembly six times.
The final decision pertaining to who will challenge the PTI supremo in NA-53 was still to be made by the PML-N high command.
