Ch Parvez Elahi files nomination papers for Gujrat constituency

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi on Sunday filed his nomination papers for two of the Gujrat constituencies in National Assembly and Punjab Assembly.

Elahi, a former chief minister of Punjab, was accompanied with a large number of people including Punjab Bar Council members, senior lawyers, local bodies chairpersons, social and political leaders and party workers at the time when he appeared at the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office to submit his nomination papers.

The former deputy prime minister will contest in the 2018 general elections for National Assembly’s NA-69 in Gujrat. Moreover, he will also run for the provincial assembly seat in the same constituency.

On the other hand, his son Moonis Elahi has also filed his nomination papers for PP-30. Those who filed nomination papers before Returning Officer/Additional Sessions Judge Imran Raza Naqvi were senior lawyers, elected local bodies chairmen, representatives of various families, leaders and workers in large number.

They included Punjab Bar Council member Ch Muhammad Fayyaz Warraich, senior lawyers Iftikhar Ahmad, Malik Muhammad Rafiq Khokhar, Ch Muhammad Fayyaz, Gallanwala, Qazi Mubashir, Imtiaz Ahmad Shakir and Akbar Javed advocates Chairman Afzal Samaan, Chairman Parvaiz Akhtar Pagganwala, Taqleed Hussain Shah, Chairman Ch Muhammad Salim, Chairman Haji Nasrullah Khokhar, former Nazim Ch Mazhar Natt, Chairman Mangowal Ahmad Iqbal Butt, former Chairman Ch Nisar, Muhammad Haneef Haideri, Manzar Hussain Dar, Irshad Nagra, PML-Q Youth Wing President Waris Sindhu and Chairman Shadiwal Parvez Bashir, among others.
