When rumours of David and Victoria Beckham’s divorce started doing the rounds, the internet went into a meltdown and fans began to express their grief and disappointment over the development, especially since the two were spotted at the royal wedding looking chic as ever.
Fortunately, these were just rumours and Victoria’s spokesperson while speaking to Harper’s Bazaar UK termed this news as “nonsense.” David’s representative also denied the rumours to the outlet.
“There is no statement due or divorce. This is just fake social media news. This is all very bizarre and an embarrassing waste of time. There is no statement due, no divorce, and a lot of Chinese whispers and fake social media news,” read the statement.
Moreso, it was also rumoured that the reason behind the split was that David had an affair with his daughter’s teacher and got her pregnant.
Hours before the rumours of their split broke, Victoria, posted an Instagram of herself and Harper with the caption, “Morning cuddles x So much love, We love and miss u David Beckham.”

The couple survived a similar scandal in 2004. David had been spotted with a woman believed to be his assistant at a nightclub in Madrid, sparking tabloid rumors. The woman’s brother claimed she told him about her affair with David. But the footballer called the brother’s story false: “During the past few months I have become accustomed to reading more and more ludicrous stories about my private life,” David said in a statement.
“What appeared this morning is just one further example. The simple truth is that I am very happily married. I have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change these facts.”
David and Victoria began dating back in 1997 after the Spice Girls attended a Manchester United match. The couple soon came to be known as ‘Posh and Becks’ in the media and became one of the most recognisable couples in show business. They tied the knot in July 1999, months after welcoming their first son Brooklyn. They have three other children together: 15-year-old Romeo, 13-year-old Cruz, and 6-year-old Harper Beckham.
