- Shehbaz says PML-N able to think, plan ahead
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Mian Shehbaz Sharif has said that in the upcoming elections, the power of the ballot will bury the politics of PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari and PTI leader Imran Khan to the ground.
The façade behind creating a ‘Naya Pakistan’ has been exposed as evident by turncoats in Imran’s party to whom he has given tickets to, he said. “I feel sorry for PTI’s party workers who have been fooled by the so-called slogan,” he said, adding that the distribution of tickets has made it clear that he was able to predict his loss.
On the other hand, Shehbaz said that workers of Asif Zardari have refused to take tickets from him. He said that the PML-N was a political party that was able to think and plan ahead whereas Imran does not have the vision to do so. “Our performance is visible to the polity and I am certain that the people will make a positive decision to vote for us after assessing it,” he said.
He said that their performance would follow Imran or Zardari wherever they would go. He said that Zardari and Imran can see their loss clearly and therefore, they have already mentally lost the elections. “Striving for the welfare of people is our highest priority. Politics is fruitful so as long as it delivers results and we are firmly committed on that front,” he said.
Shehbaz said that these upcoming elections were the most important ones in the history of Pakistan. In order to strengthen the foundations of progress that have been laid out in these past five years, it was pivotal that they have access to power in the next five years as well, he said. In the next five years, he said that the foundations of development would be solidified and Pakistan would enter into a new age.
“We have taken Pakistan out of the dark but, now, we have to steer it to prosperity,” the PML-N leader said. All of the surveys are predicting the victory of PML-N in these elections, he pointed out. “This has only been possible due to our strongest asset; the belief and commitment of the masses in us,” he said.
‘PTI ONLY ISSUED 23 TICKETS TO PARTY WORKERS’:
Former foreign minister Khawaja Asif said that PTI only issued tickets to 23 party workers, while the rest were issued to ‘garbage’ members. In a tweet on Saturday, he said PTI’s slogan for the 2018 general elections is ‘give respect to note’.
