Police, Rangers seize weapons during snap checking in Karachi

KARACHI: 15 weapons of various kinds were seized and suspects arrested during snap checking by police and Pakistan Rangers Sindh.

Javed Ashraf, one of the suspects, identified a house following which another suspect, Chanesar Punhoo, and 15 more weapons were seized by police, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sarfraz Nawaz Shaikh.

SSP Shaikh also said that initial inquiry had revealed that both suspects were also employees of a local businessman, Amir Malik.

Suspects claimed that they were shifting the seized weapons from Malik’s house to his brother’s house.

On the other hand, Malik claimed that all the weapons were licenced.
