GUJRAT: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) former member of provincial assembly (MPA) Hanif Awan joined his former rival, Chaudhry Arshad, and formed an independent panel ahead of the upcoming general elections.
Awan did not attend interview sessions of the PML-N that pertained to party tickets for the elections.
Awan and Arshad both belong to Sarai Alamgir in Gujrat but they have reportedly negotiated a formula to contest the elections jointly.
Former Punjab chief minister (CM) advisor Naeem Raza Kotla may also join the panel, according to reports.
The panel was also negotiating with Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal Gujrat chapter President Dr Tariq Saleem pertaining to seat adjustment.
