Elderly to receive special discount for Railways on Eid

ISLAMABAD: Railways Minister Roshan Khursheed Bharucha on Friday ordered for the provision of special discounts for the elderly during the Eid holidays, a local media outlet reported on Friday.

The acting minister was given a briefing about the state of railway operations in the country at the Ministry of Railways in Islamabad.

Bharucha was provided information on the public-private partnership in the Pakistan Railways (PR) as well as improved customer service facilities such as train lighting, E-ticketing and hygiene. In addition, she was informed that under the auspices of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the Pakistan Railways has been given high priority.

At the meeting, Ministry of Railways Chairman Javed Anwar said that the PR has reached its highest revenue in the past three years.
