RAWALPINDI: The Airport Security Force (ASF) on Friday foiled a bid to smuggle almost 1.436 kg of gold jewellery into the country and arrested a British national.
According to security officials, the gold was recovered from his baggage during a security check on his arrival from Manchester at Islamabad International Airport via Dubai by Emirates Airlines flight EK-613.
The ASF staff searched his baggage when they noticed the passenger acting suspiciously and recovered the gold jewellery concealed in (electric iron).
Later the accused was handed over to the Customs staff for legal proceedings.
