After ending his self-imposed exile and returning to Karachi, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Haider Abbas Rizvi flew to Dubai on Thursday to avoid arrest, media reports claimed.
Rizvi arrived in Karachi late Wednesday after having spent more than two years in Canada. Soon after his arrival, Rizvi visited the MQM-P’s Bahadurabad faction office where he met other party members.
The MQM-P leader mysteriously left for Dubai after a few hours. The reports, citing people close to him, said that he came to attend his mother and left after having visited her.
The sudden arrival and departure of the MQM-P leader raised questions.
The MQM leader’s name had appeared in many interrogation reports and he was wanted by the law enforcement agencies in several cases.
Media reports said MQM-P Bahadurabad leader Aamir Khan was told that Haider Abbas Rizvi will soon be arrested. Khan instructed Rizvi to leave the country, they added.
