Storage level on the rise in Tarbela, Mangla dams

LAHORE: The Water and Power Development Authority stated that the storage level in the Tarbela and Mangla reservoirs has been rising following rains in the catchment areas and melting of snow. Both the reservoirs had hit minimum operation of 1,386 and 1,050 feet, respectively.

It was further reported that in the last 24 hours, the water level in both the dams surged to 5.27 and 1.75 feet

On Monday, the water level in Tarbela was recorded at 1,400.81 feet; it surged to 1,406.08 feet on Tuesday. The maximum conservation of the reservoir is 1,550 feet.

Similarly Mangla dam level was 1,086.75 feet on Monday that increased to 1,088.50 on Tuesday. The maximum conservation/operating level of the reservoir is 1,242 feet.

Live storage in Tarbela and Mangla on Tuesday remained 0.274MAF and 0.201MAF, respectively.
