The fans of Pakistan’s first Sufi-rock band, Junoon, are excited over the recent ‘reunion’ of band’s two members, Ali Azmat and Salman Ahmed, and have demanded new music from both of them.

On his Facebook official page, singer Ali Azmat shared a photo with Salman Ahmed, who was the lead guitarist of the band, and the photo got fans excited.

Ali wrote: “Meet up after thirteen years with #SufiSal and friends at Iftar in Lahore.
#Dosti #AliAzmat #Sufi #Junoon Team Ali Azmat !!!”

Junoon was Pakistan’s one of the most famous and top rock band of the 90s. The band gave the singles like Saiyonee, Yaar Bina, Bulleha Ki Jana and many others. In 2005, the band broke up, after its base guitarist Brian went back to the US, and Ali Azmat went to pursue his solo career.

According to news reports and interviews by Ali Azmat, both he and Salman Ahmad developed huge differences over music which led to the break up of the band.

The recent photo has, however, established the hope for the band’s fan that it will be reunited.

One fan wrote: “Guys, bs start hojao bht wait kara lya awaam ko”.

Another wrote: “We are waiting for Junoon’s reunion.”

One Indian fan said: “Good to see salman and ali bhai together…I still have all the songs of your album “Junoon Azaadi” in my playlist…i jus adore them…bring brian O’Connell back to the band and make comeback with a bang ……lots of love from India”.

And another fan wrote: “Junoon for life, Good to see ali azmat and salman ahmed together”.
