Australia acknowledges Pakistan’s sacrifices in war on terror


ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Australia on Wednesday reviewed the existing defence and security cooperation with the pledge to further strengthen the same between the two countries.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), this was reached at a meeting between Australian Chief of Defence Forces Air Chief Marshal Mark Binskin and Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman General Zubair Mahmood Hayat in Rawalpindi.

The Australian dignitary acknowledged and appreciated the role of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in regional peace and security. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan in the war against terrorism. Binskin also participated in Pakistan-Australia defence and security talks and dialogue forums.


Meanwhile, General Zubair Mahmood Hayat called on President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday at the President House. The two discussed various matters, including defence and security-related matters.

The president expressed satisfaction over the preparedness of armed forces, the President House spokesperson said.
