Social media divided over MQM’s Haider Abbas Rizvi ‘driving Uber taxi’ in Canada

KARACHI: Mutahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) ex-Member of National Assembly (MNA) Haider Abbas Rizvi is away from the media limelight for months, but recent pictures of his Uber profile are taking over the internet claiming he is now a driver of a popular ride-hailing service in Canada.

A video is also going rounds on the social media, supposedly showing Rizvi on the driving seat of the Uber in Canada.

The internet is divided over Rizvi’s new pictures with some claiming the MQM leader was merely trying to gain public sympathy while others appreciate him for earning through fair means.

Journalist Imtiaz Chandio supported Rizvi as he wrote: “I would appreciate if Haider Abbas Rizvi earns money through hard working as other people are making joke of him on social media must think that Uber job in other countries is very respectful, so we must support all those who do believe in ” Mehanat”.”

Meanwhile, a social media user wrote: “A fake picture is circulating on which shows ‘s ‘s ID as a driver. This manipulation is an attempt to fool ‘s & hide those which he took with him to US & CA. You can’t fool us again & again & again”.

One social media pointed out the “irony,”The ones who are supposed to run the country are driving Ubers and the ones who deserve to drive Ubers get to run the country, ironic no?”

Meanwhile, another user supported him, if he is doing it, and wrote: “I’m getting a lot of Whatsapp msgs with Ex MNA of Haider Abbas Rizvi’s Uber profile in Canada. Saw a couple of tweets against him. I’m simply proud of my friend. At least he opted to work and earn rather than loot and spend like many other politicians of .”
