LOS ANGELES: Hollywood A-lister Jennifer Aniston is to be her friend and actor Courteney Cox’s maid of honour.

Aniston is helping her Friends co-star organise her nuptials to Snow Patrol singer Johnny McDaid, reports Mirror. Cox will get married to McDaid in Derry, Northern Ireland, this year.

A source revealed, “Courteney and Jennifer are thick as thieves and they have got even closer in recent months. Courteney wouldn’t want to walk down the aisle without Jennifer by her side. They have a very strong friendship.”

Aniston, 49, and Cox, 53, have been friends for more than two decades after they both starred in the worldwide hit comedy Friends. Cox was chosen to be maid of honour when Aniston exchanged vows with actor Justin Theroux in 2015.

Since the couple split in February, Courteney has been Jennifer’s ‘rock.’

Courteney and Johnny, 41, began dating in 2013 and announced their engagement a year later but separated for four months before reuniting in 2016.

They plan to say their vows in Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny’s home in Derry, Northern Ireland. They will then travel to Malibu, California, to say ‘I do’ at a lavish second ceremony in front of her pals and family on a beach.

The wedding singer at both bashes is expected to be Ed Sheeran, who introduced Courteney and Johnny. The actor is ordering four outfits for her big days – two wedding dresses and two changes of clothes for the receptions.

She is having the outfits made by British designer Jenny Packham, with the others being stitched by celebrity fashion designers Vera Wang and Zuhair Murad.

Cox married actor David Arquette on June 12, 1999. Their daughter, Coco Riley Arquette, was born on June 13, 2004.

On October 11, 2010, it was announced that Cox and Arquette had separated, though they still maintain a close friendship and ongoing business relationship with Coquette Productions.

In June 2012, Arquette filed for divorce after nearly two years of separation from Cox. The divorce became final in May 2013.
