ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Energy Power Division Joint Secretary Musaddiq Ahmed Khan said that uninterrupted supply of electricity to locations with 80 percent losses increased the bills on consumers that pay for it.
He questioned, “How electricity can be provided to areas where consumers do not pay bills?”
“Who will pay for the extra losses if uninterrupted electrical supply is given to areas which already have 80pc losses?” he further asked.
Earlier, load shedding for at least 20 hours was being carried out in areas, claimed Tribal Electric Supply Company Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mian Hamid.
Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESC) CEO Attaullah Bhutta said, “There are around 15,000 illegal tube wells in the province.”
“I have videos showing people beating my staff even in front of the Levies so we have no option but to disconnect the electricity as there is 80pc loss in most feeders,” the QESC CEO lamented.
