KARACHI: Police gunned down a person suspected of robbery and the alleged killing of a policeman in an ‘encounter’ at Seaview.
Two suspects were trying to steal from Ayaz and the victim, Ayaz, shouted for help as soon as he saw a police patrol, according to police.
Police also explained that the police party on patrol was fired upon by the suspects and in an exchange of fire, one of the suspects was injured.
The suspects succumbed to his wounds on his way to the hospital.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sarfraz Nawaz Shaikh said that Head Constable Mudassir was also injured during the exchange of fire.
