BRT management rejects corruption allegations

PESHAWAR: The management of Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit Project (BRT) on Thursday termed the allegations of corruption and using poor quality material in BRT project leveled as baseless and fabricated.

MM Pakistan Private Limited’s Assistant Resident Engineer Gohar Muhammad Khan tendered resignation on Wednesday from his post and levelled charges of corruption in the project.

In a statement, the management of BRT has clarified that Gohar Muhammad Khan was terminated from his service on basis of poor performance and lack of interest in work. It also made it clear that he was internee engineer of private firm MM Pakistan Private Limited and not a government engineer.

The conclusion of service letter, issued by the general manager (operations) of MM Pakistan Private Limited to Gohar Muhammad Khan on May 28, said that the management, under clause seven of the appointment letter issued on May 11, had decided to conclude the series with immediate effect.
