What is the influence on the public when powerful men who are responsible for steering and leading millions set examples of poor moral conduct, abusive behaviour, and an illiterate mindset?
A brief list of examples our leaders are setting on how to treat women is as follows.
1- Khawaja Asif calls Mazari a ‘tractor trolley’ during a National Assembly session.
2- Javed Latif goes on to ‘trash talk’ about Murad Saeed’s sisters. This is a censored version.
3- Deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif calls Benazir Bhutto a ‘yellow taxi’, a local slur used to imply that a woman is a prostitute.
When Benazir Bhutto once wore a Yellow dress, NawazSharif addressed her in the National Assembly in a very derogatory manner by calling her as a YELLOW TAXI, (Gashti) after that his Chamchay started calling her Yellow Cab.

4- Keeping on with his sexist attitude, Nawaz Sharif again comments on the ‘kind of women’ who attend PTI rallies.
5- Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPA Imdad Pitafi calls Nusrat Sehar Abbasi to his chamber for an answer, calls her ‘drama queen’ and asks which ‘rocket’ she has seen. The video is an excerpt.
6- JUI-F Senator Hafiz Hamdullah threatens social activist Marvi Sirmed with “rape and tries to beat her”.
7- National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah gang up on women in an assembly full of both genders.
8- Unknown government official passes a lewd sexual remark by twisting Begum Zahid Khaleequzaman’s comment on workload.
9-PML-N’s Khawaja Asif calls Begum Mehnaz Rafi a “penguin” in reference to her limp.
10- When Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab asked Shireen Mazari asked if she wanted strip-searches when she pointed out the state of security at airports.
11-CII’s proposed ‘model’ to beat wives ‘lightly’ if they don’t obey their husbands.
12- TV host Amir Liaqat glorifies rape, uses women as tools of insult.
13- Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on PTI’s female supporters: “The dance moves of these women show which families they belong too. Stresses that women should not come out to vote or support.”
14- Khawaja Asif calls Ferdous Ashiq Awan a “newly acquired dumper”.

15- Sheikh Rasheed calls Benazir Bhutto a ‘kameeni, badmaash, kuti’. Proceeds to teach the crowd a lesson in ethics by saying, “Ye Islamabad ayegi, isko jutiyon se nikaalain gay.”
16- PML-N’s Abid Sher Ali claims that harassment is selective, lashes out at Shireen Mazari for not allowing him to “touch” her.
And many more will continue to get away with it in the absence of laws to hold them accountable for their sexist tirades.
