KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices to the chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), religious affairs secretary and others on a petition against leasing out a gurdwara in Mirpurkhas to a private person, reported a local English newspaper.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi issued notices to the provincial and federal law officers and respondents and directed them to submit their comments on September 18.
The member of Pakistan Hindu Council, petitioner Roop Mala Singh, told the court that a historical gurdwara, situated at M.A. Jinnah Road, was illegally leased out to Nizamuddin for 30 years.
